GO! Social welcomes you to join us on our GO Social: Egypt Centre Tour

Please note this event is for students currently enrolled at Swansea University (and their friends / family) and is not open for bookings from the general public. A valid Swansea University Student Number will be required on booking

Date & Time: Thursday 14th May 2026 - 12pm

Location: Egypt Centre, Singleton Park Campus – Google Map Location 

Description: We know May can be a stressful time with exams and revision, so why not take an hour out and join us on a guided tour around the Egypt Centre that is based on Singleton Park Campus.

The Egypt Centre is the largest collection of Egyptian Antiquities in Wales, so why not come learn a bit more about them? It holds over 6000 artefacts with approximately 2000 of these on display to visitors between the museums two galleries, the House of Death, which has recevntly been renovated and the House of Life! The staff are very knowledgeable and should be able to answer any questions you have about anything on display!

Cancellation: Spaces are limited, so if you book a ticket but are not able to attend, please ensure you cancel this through your Native account or email gosocial@swansea.ac.uk. This will allow another person to take the space and avoid people missing out.

Conduct & Safety: You are responsible for your own behaviour and time keeping. Please take reasonable care of your own and other people's health and safety. If you have any concerns, please raise these to the event leader. In the event of an emergency situation, please ensure you contact the emergency services on 999.

Accessibility: The Egypt Centre is fully accessible to wheelchair users with ramps and lifts. There is a disabled toilet on the first floor. If you have concerns or queries regarding the suitability of the event, or have any specific accessibility requirements, contact gosocial@swansea.ac.uk as soon as possible. We will do our best to assist, however we cannot guarantee all requirements can be met.

Data Protection: VISA Advice will use the information you provide for attendance and safety purposes. We will use your data to produce internal statistics but will not share it with third parties or use it for marketing purposes. Your information will be provided to our event leader for the purpose of attendance monitoring and emergency situations. The information will be kept confidential and passed back to us and destroyed. Native’s policies can be found on their website.

Photos: We will be taking photos throughout the event which we will use to promote future activities in the form of leaflets, social media posts, digital screens and on our website. If you would not like to be included, then please tell us on the day of the event. If you see yourself in any pictures and would like to be removed, please email us at gosocial@swansea.ac.uk and we will make sure that any photos of you are deleted.
