Hi, I’m your Welfare Officer and former Women’s Officer. I’m also what you might call a “slasher", someone who’s had over 20 different jobs — but the label that defines me most is this: I am a Welsh–Hongkonger activist.
I began my activism at 16 — or perhaps even earlier, at 14 or 15, when I wrote my first article on equality. A major social movement at home became a turning point in my life. Even after the movement subsided, my resilience transformed into new forms: serving as a District Councilor Assistant, founding a district magazine, supporting imprisoned protesters, and eventually becoming a student leader in Swansea and constantly organizing protests here in Wales.
I have struggled — in every role and identity — but especially as a woman. But from the starting point, the reason I am on this path, is all because I am a woman.
This is only a glimpse of my journey.
