This 2-hour surf lesson is delivered by Progress Surf School at Caswell Beach, on behalf of Get ACTIVE.
Whether you're new to surfing or looking to expand on your intermediate skills, the lessons makes sure that everyone improves their skill level. The surf instructors will be on hand to offer you expert advice and coaching tips to help you learn to surf or advance your existing skills.
Venue: Caswell Beach.
Session Duration: 2 hours.
Session Time: 1:30-4pm (extra time is added to your surfing lesson to allow for changing and walking to the beach)
The bus will pick up at the following:
Cost: £16 (includes all equipment and transportation).
Refunds are only available within 48 hours of the session time.
Only 21 places are available for this session.
Equipment/clothing:
- Wear bathers under your clothes so it’s an easy change into a wetsuit.
- Bring a towel, drink and a warm change of clothes.
- All equipment provided – surfboard, wetsuit, boots (gloves and hat if required).
- Don't bring valuables with you. During the session, you will be able to leave your bag in Progress' storage container whilst you're in the water.
Criteria to participate:
• You are able to swim a minimum of 50 metres in open water.
• You are physically fit enough to take part.
• You will will comply with all safety regulations set out by Swansea Surf School.
• You are not pregnant.

Weather: Unpredictable...we are in Wales after all!! If the weather is against us, we may be forced to cancel the session as we want to make sure it's as safe as possible for you to enjoy the experience. If we have to cancel the event, we'll let you know by email.
Conduct & Safety: You are responsible for your own behaviour and time keeping. Please take reasonable care of your own and other people's health and safety. Please ensure that you familiarise yourself with safety information and safety instructions. If you have any concerns, please raise these to the event leader.
Acknowledgement of Risks: (a) I understand that participation in a Get ACTIVE session could result in a physical injury. I agree that I do so at my own risk, am voluntarily participating and assume all risk of injury to myself; (b) I understand that Sport Swansea recommends that if I have pe-existing medical condition/s, I should consult with a health professional before participating in Get ACTIVE activities.

Children: On this ocassion, children are not able to attend. Get ACTIVE will be delivering some family friendly activities soon.
Data Protection: Get ACTIVE will share your details with relvenat staff for attendance and safety purposes. We will use your data to produce internal statistics.
Photos: We may take photos and videos throughout the event which we will use to promote future activities in the on social media posts and on our website. When booking your ticket, you'll be asked to give photo/video consent. If you change your mind to your initial answer, just let us know on the day.

What is the Code of Conduct?
This Code of Conduct code sets out the expected behaviour of staff and participants of Swansea University’s Get ACTIVE programme.
It is designed to protect staff and participants and others potentially affected by their actions, ensure the highest possible standards of participation, fairness, honesty and behaviour in relation to the conduct of all Swansea University representatives. If adhered to, the Code of Conduct will also serve to reduce the risk of harm and injury to members and the community in general
As a Get ACTIVE Participant, I will:
Recognise and appreciate the efforts made by Activators, volunteers, officials and officers in providing the opportunity for you to participate in activity sessions and enjoy the sporting/physical activity environment.
Shall not use foul language or abusive language or gestures towards other participants, Activators, volunteers or coaches.
Shall not do anything which is likely to intimidate, offend, insult, humiliate or discriminate against any other person on the ground of gender, race, disability, age, religious or political belief, sexual orientation, social background, ethnic origin, language, marital or civil partnership status or pregnancy.
Arrive for activity sessions in good time, not to cause disruption to the session once started.
Consistently display high standards of behaviour.
Turn up with appropriate kit for the activity.
Take responsibility for warming up and cooling down properly, as appropriate.
Play for fun and enjoyment.
Learn and play by the rules.
Recognise and applaud all good play.
Ensure changing facilities are the same when you leave as when you entered them.
Report broken or damaged equipment to staff members.
Do not bring the club, Sport Swansea or Swansea University into disrepute.
