TALIESIN CREATE
Taliesin Create is a dynamic and inclusive creative space, designed to be as flexible as possible for students and staff across Swansea University.
Located on the ground floor of the Taliesin building, Taliesin Create exists to promote art, culture, creativity and innovation. Taliesin Create consists of two bookable spaces, the Mall Room and the Studio.
Taliesin Create also features a zone for general study, an area for students and staff to socialise and relax, easy-to-use projectors, a green screen for filming, and areas for pop-up exhibitions and displays.
Taliesin Create hosts over 60 student and staff events each month, meaning it continually evolves with everyone who uses it. Over the past year, we’ve supported events as varied as kite making workshops for Danny Boyle’s Pages of the Sea; puppetry workshops with Smoking Apples Theatre; a programme of events for the 200th anniversary of Frankenstein; and Q&As with the 2018 Dylan Thomas Prize’s shortlisted authors.
We’ve also hosted the Research as Art 2018 photography exhibition, short film screenings for the Wales International Film Festival, regular Makers’ Markets, and weekly dance classes in American Tribal Style (ATS) Belly Dancing and Argentine Tango.
